I'm Zixi (Jessy) Wang. I'm a graphic designer and I love all visual languages that are colorful, neat and simplified. In my creations, I often express the subtle feelings and the human side of daily life through soft or bright colors, clean compositions and emotionally rich images.
My design themes revolve around emotional expression, identity recognition and visual narrative. I like to transform complex emotions into perceivable images in a warm and playful way - for example, my project Hello Jessxi explores the relationship between digital emotions and the real self through a self-replicating IP character.
During my study at VCA, I gradually developed a design approach that starts with observation and centers on empathy. I enjoy finding a balance between research and experimentation, extracting visual cues from the details of life, and reinterpreting them through a combination of graphics, hand-drawing and digital media. For me, design is not only an aesthetic expression but also a way of communication.
Hello Jessxi, IP Character Design, 2025
"Hello Jessxi" is a design project about self-replication, exploring how to transform an individual's emotions and identities into digital visual forms. By observing and redrawing my facial expressions and body language, I created the character "Jessxi" - an image that reflects my emotional self in a playful and expressive way. The work adopts hand-drawn illustrations, transforming delicate emotional features into a complete visual system, which is applied to posters, stickers and small peripheral products.
This project continues my interest in designing for emotional communication and self-expression. Through soft lines and bright colors, I attempt to make complex emotions "seen" in a simple way, felt and resonated with by others. "Hello Jessxi" not only showcases my growth during my study at VCA, but also serves as a dialogue between reality and digital, self and expression.
