This work is based on a dream I had in 2020, where I was a police officer chasing a criminal through a staircase on a school campus. The vividness of the scene left a deep impression on me, so I drew it immediately after waking up. The piece captures the tension and surreal energy that often exist within dreams—blurring the line between reality and imagination.

I am a graphic design student exploring the intersections of dreams, memory, and cultural symbolism. Dreams have always held great significance for me—they can foreshadow the future or take me back into the past, like a parallel world. When I am under stress, nightmares sometimes amplify my fears, revealing the worries I truly need to face, which I see as a valuable way to confront and overcome challenges.
This project takes the form of a book that records my personal dreams alongside their interpreted meanings, inspired by the traditional Chinese text Zhou Gong's Interpretation of Dreams. Since high school, I have kept a habit of recording dreams as if keeping a diary. For me, dreams are a parallel world, and the stories within it are also a diary—moments of reflection, memory, and imagination intertwined.
In addition, I interviewed 80 friends about their most memorable dreams. I hope that by including these shared experiences, viewers can encounter dreams similar to their own and gain insight into the symbols and meanings behind them. By weaving personal reflection, cultural tradition, and collective experiences together, I aim to visualize the dialogue between the subconscious and reality, transforming private dreamscapes into intimate, shared experiences.
