The Distance Between Us

Keep Covr’d is a conceptual packaging campaign designed for COVR, a fictional COVID-19 safety brand. The work poetically reflects on the distance and isolation we experienced during the pandemic. This packaging line features boxes and stickers that reimagines the aesthetics of COVID-era products, transforming what was once sterile and corporate into something timeless, minimalist, and engaging for all ages. Inspired by the ongoing mutation of the virus, COVR explores the idea of replication and awareness to translate the notion of a “copy of a copy” into a continuous public message of health and safety. The project encourages people to stay mindful and “keep covered,” both literally and metaphorically, as the virus persists in our everyday lives.
Throughout this process, I experimented with cyanotype printing, a sun-exposure technique that creates deep blue imprints. This process conceptually mirrors how sunlight can deactivate viruses, turning a scientific principle into a visual metaphor. The use of cyanotype not only gave the packaging a distinctive aesthetic but also created a sense of experimentation, like a laboratory for design. Ultimately, The Distance Between Us captures a balance between design, science, and emotion. It reflects my ongoing interest in reinterpreting everyday materials and transforming practical products into poetic visual experiences.
Hello! I’m Sheryn, a graphic designer with a passion for visual storytelling and bold, graphic expression. My creative practices often explores monotone palettes, strong forms, and digital or interactive design. Through my studies at VCA, I’ve developed a curiosity for experimenting across mediums from traditional handcraft to digital production and film, each shaping how I approach visual communication. I also have a growing interest in product packaging, where I enjoy transforming conceptual ideas into tactile, real-world experiences. I’m motivated by the joy of doing what I love and inspired by seeing others pursue their creative passions. As I continue to grow as a designer, I look forward to contributing meaningfully to the creative community.
