Lighting Design 'Into the Woods'

Sam is a Narrm/Melbourne based lighting designer and programmer, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).
Dance and music were integral elements of Sam’s upbringing, sparking her passion for live performance and shaping her designs, which are enhanced by her focus on innovative performance technologies, musicality and immersive storytelling.
Sam’s graduating credits at the VCA include Deputy Electrician and Lighting Programmer on ‘Everybody’ (2024), and ‘Curtains’ (2024), Co-Lighting and Vision Designer of ‘Portals’ (‘Eveningsphere’, 2024) and Lighting Designer of 'Into The Woods' (dir. Ylaria Rogers, 2025) and 'Pluriverse' (2025). She was also Lighting Designer of ‘Marry Me a Little’ (dir. Noah Gullan, 2025) a musical production presented at the VCA Master of Theatre (Directing) Graduate Season showcase. In 2025, Sam completed lighting design secondments on Opera Australia's 'Hadestown' with Trudy Dalgleish, Joshua Robson Productions' 'In The Heights' with Jasmine Rizk, and Melbourne Theatre Company's 'Much Ado About Nothing' with Katie Sfetkidis.
Sam was the 2025 recipient of the Orloff Family Charitable Trust Award for excellence in production.
