GRADUATE SHOWCASE
Rooted in an enduring commitment to creative practice, Rhianna Louise a.k.a Rhi Rhi, she/her, is a dynamic and vibrant Naarm-based artist, specialised in set & costume design.
Fostering a creative flair and attention to detail in all her work, Rhianna draws inspiration from her background in dance, special effects makeup and photography to fuel her current practices. Having immersed herself in the arts her whole life, Rhianna thrives in the creative community and is grateful she gets to spend her days doing what she loves and is truely passionate about.
Rhianna’s experience in live performance includes set and costume designing the VCA choreographic production Diamond Rain and set design assocciate for the VCA opera The Corronation of Poppea 2025. Rhianna has also completed a costume design internship with Bianca Bardo for both Disney's Tarzan and set and costume design for What’s Yours at Red stitch theatre. Her experience as a designer extends further into screen work for film and tv, working as the set designer and creative director for several commercial photoshoots including Trapped in the Future and Reinventing the Renaissance Woman. Her film and tv work includes art assistant on Imposter after interning with the art department on Neighbours. Her work in the theatre extended last year into stage management, working as the stage manager for the VCA choreographic production (Un)Tethered, assistant stage manager for Spring Awakening the musical and interning with the Australian Ballet for their 2025 season of Carmen.
The Coronation of Poppea, 2025. This roman-esc set design reimagines the fractured and crumbling society of Rome built on corruption, betrayal and the burning desire for power during Nero's time of reign. The soft curtains of the interactive column structures allowed performers to step inside, blurring boundaries and exposing hidden layers of the antagonist's intimacy and intrigue with Poppea following her rise to power. The revolving wall on top of the central platform transported audience members to various locations and revealing hidden spaces allowing a fresh perspective on the unfolding love affair.
Very grateful to work alongside director Jane Davidson, musical director Donald Nicolson, lead set designer Emma Ashton, costume Designer Reuben James, assistant costume designer Trinity Cardow and lighting designer Stephen Hawker.
