Isobel McCauley is a Melbourne based costume designer, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production). She previously studied Fashion Design and Enterprise at Kangan Institute and RMIT respectively, informing her design background with a particular passion toward sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation. She is interested in the preservation of bespoke craft through dynamic collaboration.
Her creative practice is driven by a love for garment and textile design, as a broader identity-based study of people throughout time. This exploration of external and internal identity often draws Isobel to her own lineage and connection to place within her work.
Her notable credits at the Victorian College of the Arts include Costume Designer for ‘Watch On The Rhine’ and ‘Fountain’, as well as Costume Manager for ‘Everybody’ and Costume Assistant for ‘The Dinner Party’.
