Hello! My name is Gladys and I am a designer based in Melbourne, specialising in illustrative branding and visual storytelling. My interest is in designing graphics that combine playful, expressive imagery with thoughtful brand identities. In my work, I aim to create uplifting, meaningful designs that inspire connection. My future goal is to make a positive impact through creativity and design. Feel free to checkout my illustrative works in the links below!
For Lovers Album - Lamp, 2021.
In this project, I explore how illustration and typography can work together to build a distinctive visual identity for Lamp's 2004 Album For Lovers. Inspired by the calming, bright soundscape and intimate themes, the design aims to capture mood through character and movement rather than literal imagery. The fish circling one another serves as a metaphor for the human experience of searching for love, looping, drifinting, and returning while the bio-art elements evoke the surreal, otherworldly nature of finding “the one.” The process involved iterative sketching, experimenting with composition, and developing a cohesive visual system that extends into posters, tickets and merchandise.
NuLife, Paper, Cardboard & Tin, 2025.
In this project, I explore how graphic design constructs trust, nostalgia, and desire within consumer culture by creating a fictional supermarket brand called NuLife. Inspired by post-apocalyptic imagery and the aesthetics of mass-produced packaging, the work examines how counterfeit branding and replicated goods become “more real than the real.” The product range mimics the optimistic tone and visual language of global corporations while subtly distorting them. Through iterative packaging design, staged photography, and the construction of survivalist sub-brands, NuLife questions how graphic design upholds illusion and comfort in a world where only the copy remains.
Cafe Godot Redesign, 2025.
In this project, I rebranded Cafe Godot to better reflect its role as a lively, welcoming stop for students and staff in Southbank. Inspired by its warm atmosphere and theatrical namesake, the new identity introduces bright colours, expressive illustration, and a playful mascot that brings movement and personality to the brand. The design aims to energise the cafe’s presence while preserving its authentic charm, creating a space that feels inviting. Through research, site visits, character development, and iterative sketching, I created a cohesive system applied across menus, signage, and packaging.
