Asha Robinson is a Melbourne/Naarm based Set and Costume Designer, and Costumier, who recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production).
Influenced by her early years onstage as a performer, Asha is passionate about how design can captivate and immerse an audience, and in materialising the intangible. Their practice explores the intersections of gender, identity, and form, reflecting the power of visual language and material craft. Asha sees costume as a lived extension of narrative, something felt as much as seen, and is interested in how texture, silhouette and construction can invite empathy and expand worlds.
Asha’s notable credits at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) include Costume Manager for the play ‘The Bank’, Costume Assistant for choreographic production ‘(Un)Tethered’ and Costume Designer for another choreographic work “(un)tamed”, showcased at MUSE Festival 2024. In 2025, Asha was delighted to be the Senior Costumier on ‘Into the Woods’ and the Costume Designer for ‘The Drowsy Chaperone.’
